Thursday November 17th 2016 - 7pm onwards - 'Citizens of the World
Film Night' at The Ivy House, SE15 3BE - Free Entry

After our successful event in May at the Copeland Gallery, we're having a 'Citizens of the World - refugee film night' raise greater awareness of refugees and their plights throughout Europe.
We would like to invite you to an evening of short films and discussion that reflect the continuing refugee crisis and highlight individual stories. John Domokos, one of the Guardian's refugee and migration correspondents, will introduce the evening with a short overview of the current international and national situation, and then present one of his films. Journalists/video-producers from the Refugee Journalism Project based at London College of Communication will show some of their work and talk about it. We'll also be showing some short films from Save the Children. There will be a Q &A after each of the films and plenty of time for discussion. We hope to see you on November 17th. Please tell friends, family, workmates etc about the event. The Ivy House is London's first co-operatively owned pub in London and also serves food. Address: The Ivy House, 40 Stuart Road, Nunhead, SE15 3BE Clear here for directions The event is free to attend, however any donations will be divided between the 3 Southwark refugee charities: Southwark Day Centre for Asylum Seekers Southwark Refugee & Migrant Project Southwark Refugee Communities Forum In association with: Southwark Law Centre, Forum for Equalities and Human Rights in Southwark, Southwark Citizens Advice Bureau Service, Southwark Council, Southwark Hate Crime Network |
